Author John Montandon's By His Own Blood receives worldwide recognition winning in the International Book Awards competition.

LOS ANGELES, CA / June 20, 2012 - Rockford Brownstone Publishing has just announced that John Montandon is the winner of the prestigious International Book Awards Non-Fiction Narrative category for his new book, By His Own Blood. The JPX Media Group, parent company of the International Book Awards (IBA), announced the winners on May 23, 2012. Over 300 winners and finalists were announced in over 100 categories covering print, e-books and audio books. JPX Media Group is located in Los Angeles and is involved in numerous aspects of the entertainment and publishing industries.

In his premier book, By His Own Blood, Mr. Montandon discloses the incredible true account of his father's horrific death and a search for answers and healing. In the story, the writer's father, Doc Montandon, was given a blood transfusion tainted with the HIV virus, and refused treatment after having developed AIDS. To make matters worse, the ordeal was covered up. Doc, a retired Texas cotton farmer, suffered terribly and died not knowing why or how he was infected.

Awards have been presented for titles published in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Jeffrey Keen, President and CEO of JPX Media Group, said of this year's competition, "The 2012 results represent a phenomenal mix of books from a wide array of publishers throughout the world." This year's IBA contest yielded a large number of entries from authors and publishers around the world, which were then narrowed down to the final results.

By His Own Blood was also awarded an Honorable Mention at the New York Book Festival held at the Grolier Club in New York on June 22nd. The world-famous library in the heart of Manhattan was a perfect place for authors and publishers to celebrate an evening honoring publishing excellence.

In addition, By His Own Blood received an Honorable Mention at this year's Los Angeles Book Festival on Saturday, March 3, at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. The evening of networking among noted authors, publishers, filmmakers and producers is annually one of the most inspirational and fun parties of the book festival season. Author Montandon stated while attending the ceremonies, "I am particularly happy with the response and recognition I have received as my book was only recently released."
